Joie de Game · Douala, Cameroon

For the love of the game.

And for the players who keep showing up: a community where effort is valuable, progress is visible, and every step forward counts.

Why we exist

A shared language of progress.

We believe every step forward deserves to count.

Athletes train, compete, improve. Too often, their effort leaves no record. So we give their effort a record - not for a select few, but for everyone who shows up.

Joie de Game exists to give athletes, coaches, and the communities around them a shared language for measuring progress, honouring the work behind it, and building a record that's theirs to keep.

Because progress isn’t just measured. It’s remembered.

The First step

The story of progress starts with showing up.

What we do

Where showing up adds up.

Athletes already show up and put in work - we help make sure those moments don’t disappear. Because your effort counts, and it should be counted.

The story so far

Where moments begin to connect.

Over three combines, we’ve welcomed new athletes and old ones back - and started linking one session to the next. It’s an early milestone, but an important one: for some athletes, progress no longer begins from scratch.

Bonabéri Combine 01 Combine 0117 Jan 2026 First JDG Combine. Hosted with Rock Rugby League. Twenty-two rugby players joined our combine under the Douala heat. The day started quietly, but by the end the field was full of encouragement and curiosity. For many, it was the first chance to capture the work they were already putting in. It left us with a shared reference point and the beginning of many conversations to come. Combine 01 · 17 Jan 2026A snapshot Where it began.

Rugby Tag Day.

The next time we gathered, it wasn't for another combine - it was a day of rugby with no tackles. Everyone was welcome to play. Some arrived ready to run, others simply to give it a go and before long, no one was left on the sidelines.
By the final game, everyone had found a place on the pitch.

Bonabéri Combine 02 Combine 0228 Mar 2026 First Football Combine. Three clubs invited, two answered present. Thirteen athletes arrived to a rain delay before the first test could begin. Once the weather cleared, the morning found its rhythm. Looking back at the results, the patterns stayed with us more than the totals. Every athlete brought a different mix of strengths, and every profile sparked a different conversation. Combine 02 · 28 Mar 2026A snapshot Football joins the story.

Interclub Football Day.

Three months after the combine, Excel and Gérard met again for a morning on the pitch. The football gave everyone another reason to gather. Around the touchline, conversations moved easily between the game, the combines, and everything that had happened since.

Another day around the cones brought our biggest group yet - new football players, familiar rugby faces, a few on their own but most with their teammates. Eight returned to be measured again.
